Lost Arts Historical Fencing classes are available to students of all levels of experience. However, there are beginner courses available throughout the year. These 6 week classes are designed to provide a broad overview of fencing concepts and techniques.
Intro to Rapier Class
Mondays 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Course Length: 6 weeks, September 7th to October 12th
Pricing:
$100 for new members
$60 for existing members
Required Equipment: Athletic clothing, indoor shoes, groin protection required. Loaner gear available but students are encouraged to purchase a fencing mask and gloves as soon as possible.
Class is restricted to 16 students
New for 2026, the Intro to Rapier Class will be taught by rapier medalists Steven and Liz. Focusing on the 1610 text “Great Representation of the Art and Use of Fencing” by Capo Ferro, this class will teach the positions, movements, techniques and theory around this beloved weapon.
Intro to Longsword Class
September 6th to October 11th
Sundays 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The Intro to Longsword Class focuses on the teaching of Johannes Liechtenauer, a 14th century German fencing master. Taught by multi-medal winning Longsword instructor Calder, the class teaches the basics of longsword techniques, positions, movements, theory and history of the longsword.
